Borderlandia is a binational organization committed to building public understanding of the borderlands. We help people have meaningful experiences in the borderlands through heritage tours, public educational programming and the publication of a digital magazine.

ABOUT US

Borderlandia is a partnership LLC co-owned and founded by husband and wife Alex and Rocio La Pierre. We are from the United States and Mexico and want to share the 98% good news about the border region via sustainable tourism, what we really consider citizen-level diplomacy. Join us for our heritage tours where one can experience the rich cultural traditions and natural beauty of the borderlands.

IMPACT

Borderlandia focuses on rural tourism in regions that historically have never seen tourism like other places in Mexico. The tourism we practice supports a long link of partners from restauranters, hotel and activities operators in contrast to the alternative extractive mining in the Sonoran Desert. Our tours are wholly educational and carried out with citizen diplomacy at the heart of our actions. We have always said that the further away one is from the border the bigger the myth of the border is. Our business is in breaking the myths of the borderlands with impactful firsthand experiences.
