The Global Meaningful Travel Map
VRONTALIDA
OUR EXPERIENCES
We offer guided hiking and nature-based experiences in the mountains of Epirus, connecting travelers with some of Greece's most remote mountain landscapes, traditional villages, and the rich natural and cultural heritage of the region. Visitors can explore rivers, alpine lakes, gorges, forests, and historic mountain landscapes while experiencing a more meaningful and sustainable way of traveling. Our long-term vision includes the revival of the village’s former primary school as a community guesthouse for hikers and cultural travelers.
ABOUT US
We connect travelers with the natural and cultural heritage of Epirus through hiking, storytelling, and meaningful outdoor experiences. Our mission is to preserve traditional footpaths, support sustainable tourism, and contribute to the long-term revitalization of remote mountain communities.
IMPACT
Our work contributes to cultural preservation, environmental awareness, education, and community revitalization. Through ongoing restoration efforts, historic footpaths that had been abandoned for decades have been cleared, documented, and made accessible again, revealing traditional stonework and reconnecting visitors with the area's heritage. Through guided hiking experiences, travelers learn about local history, mountain culture, and the natural landscapes of Epirus, encouraging responsible and low-impact travel.
The project also raises awareness through photography, film, and storytelling, helping preserve local knowledge while promoting sustainable tourism opportunities in a remote mountain community facing long-term population decline. These efforts support a broader initiative to revive the village's former primary school as a community guesthouse and hub for hikers and cultural travelers.
