Marrakech Green Wheels
OUR EXPERIENCES
We offer bike tours and rentals in and around Marrakech. We have introduced the bicycle to locals as well as to tourists and encouraged cycling with the purpose to provide an affordable and sustainable means of transportation, promoting ecotourism in Morocco and combat unemployment by providing sustainable employment and training for Moroccan youth.
The team develops innovative projects, locally and nationally, involving revenue-creating activities to open more employment opportunities for people in our community with barriers to employment. We offer free workshops on repairing and maintaining bikes, traffic safety workshops, cycling classes, and more.
ABOUT US
Our vision is to raise public awareness about climate change and to communicate the economic chances of sustainable tourism in Morocco. We create income-generating opportunities to empower young people, women and minorities and equip them with skills that will help them in their future careers and help serve the community.
IMPACT
Marrakech Green Wheels contributes to more sustainable, inclusive, and community-driven mobility. Promoting cycling through cycling cultural experiences helped avoid 18 tonnes of CO₂ emissions in 2025, reducing the community’s carbon footprint. In addition, 6,500 participants have adopted regular cycling practices, supporting their physical and mental well-being, reducing stress, and strengthening social connections.
Through sustainable mobility, we promote responsible local ecotourism, attracting visitors committed to sustainable practices while generating positive benefits for the local economy.
Our work also contributes to promoting equal opportunities, particularly by strengthening girls’ autonomy and access to educational opportunities through putting repaired bicycles back into circulation.
Finally, we encourage volunteering and community engagement, helping strengthen social cohesion, responsibility, and civic participation.
