SORORAL

Small-group feminist journeys connecting travelers with women-led businesses, grassroots organizations, and story-driven local experiences.

OUR EXPERIENCES

Sororal designs small-group feminist travel experiences in destinations where women's leadership is shaping local economies and communities. Travellers stay with women-owned accommodations, learn from women-led businesses and grassroots organisations, and explore each place through a trauma-informed, story-first lens. We also publish Afield Guides — independent city guides spotlighting women-owned spaces around the world — and offer a consulting stream for organisations applying feminist principles to their own travel, programming, and partnerships.

ABOUT US

Sororal is a Canadian feminist anti-violence travel and advocacy company creating experiences that expand women's freedom, safety, and opportunity. We champion women-led businesses, direct revenue to grassroots organisations addressing gender-based violence, and approach travel as shared stewardship of place. Powered by Women. Centred on Change.

IMPACT

Sororal is a Certified B Corporation (score 102.2), structured to direct a portion of every trip to grassroots organisations addressing gender-based violence. We partner with women-led businesses, accommodations, and local guides, returning tourism revenue to the women stewarding the places we visit, and our Voices Rising Survivor Scholarship Fund supports survivors of gender-based violence in accessing travel. We work at small-group scale with locally-owned operators, avoiding the extractive volume model of mainstream tourism and prioritising longer stays in fewer places. Our Afield Guides spotlight women-owned spaces in cities worldwide as a permanent record of women's contributions to place, while Baggage Claim — our monthly feminist travel storytelling feature — and our editorial work challenge industry narratives that erase small women-owned businesses and flatten women's histories across the destinations we visit.

Sororal is committed to supporting travellers living with disabilities and exceptionalities to join our trips, and we make every effort to include them. As a small-group operator, we work directly with each registrant ahead of departure to understand their individual needs and adapt accommodations, pacing, and logistics accordingly. Our trauma-informed approach to trip design — including built-in rest, opt-in activities, and attentive group facilitation — supports a range of access needs. We recognise this is an evolving area of practice for our industry and for us, and we welcome direct conversation with prospective travellers about whether a specific trip is the right fit for their needs.
